2012 Digital PR Awards

1. Head & Shoulder Troy Polamalu

Online campaign Head & Shoulders used to garner interest in their products, while enticing consumers with Super Bowl tickets. They had a 7% increase in sales.

2. Co-Winner: American Cancer Society – QuitBuddy with Mobile Engagement for Smoking Cessation & Lung Cancer Awareness

With the understanding that mobile technology has emerged as one of the most effective ways to deliver messaging, the ACS launched QuitBuddy in February of 2012.  QuitBuddy was created as a texting tool to help smokers stay motivated in their journey to quit smoking. A simple text of QUIT to 22723 opened the door to a support group supportive messages and helpful tips.

*The ACS gained an additional 82 followers and its Facebook page saw a 3% increase.

Result: Showed that being reminded was successful in trying to quit smoking

***Sidenote: Charity Navigator is an independent, non-profit organization that evaluates American charities Its stated goal is “to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace by evaluating the financial health of America’s largest charities.”

3.The History Channel – Hatfields & McCoys

At the same time, they were looking to develop an entirely new audience for the channel: drama enthusiasts and those looking for more entertaining fare. It was hopes that this first venture into scripted programming would serve as a launching pad for more in the future.

4.Ogilvy PR Australia – Kleenex Cottonelle: Pin to Make a Difference

To drive awareness among Australian moms and show how— as a premium and environmentally responsible toilet paper— Kleenex Cottonelle was worth investing in. Exceeded their goal .

5.Digital Communicator of The Year- Samara Finn – Marina Maher Communications

Samara Finn, a VP in MMC’s Creative Catalyst Group (CCG), leads online influencers communications at MMC, developing approaches to reach, inspire and motivate bloggers and online media to advocate for clients. Because of the relationships she has developed with online influencers, Finn’s contacts almost always open her e-mails and respond to her requests—a PR pros dream come true.
